About PAR-Lab!

PAR-Lab is established under the research cluster of Architectural Sciences and Building Technology, Department of Architecture (architecture.ui.ac.id), Universitas Indonesia.

It focuses on the development of computational methods for integral design and engineering that specifically addresses sustainability issues that arise between architectural buildings and their built environment. PArl explores further environmental performance criteria from quantifiable engineering requirements to qualitative design attributes through a series of computational tools and techniques.

Our proposed integral design approaches enable architects or computational designers to foster building performance technologies, drive innovative design solutions, and enhance interactions between creative form-finding based on scientific inquiries on building performance simulations. To date, PArl involves and covers a wide range of educational and research topics such as design optimization, environmental performance simulations, 3D scanning technology, and robotic fabrications.

miktha@ui.ac.id

Dr. Miktha Farid Alkadri is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture, Universitas Indonesia (UI), where he currently leads the Performative Architecture Research Computation Lab (PAr-lab). With an academic foundation from Universitas Indonesia and a Doctor degree in Architecture Engineering Technology from Delft University of Technology (TU Delft), his work bridges the gap between architectural theory and advanced engineering. As the head of PAr-lab, he directs interdisciplinary research that leverages technology to solve complex environmental and structural challenges in the built environment.
