Urban Canyon is a context where the road access in urban areas is surrounded by rows of building on both sides lengthwise, forming a canyon. Most of the activities that occur in the urban canyon context are used by motorized vehicles, pedestrians, or human crowds. The increasing urban population density causes the need for transportation equipment on city segments. This can affect the atmospheric conditions in the urban canyon, such as buildings, air temperature and surface surface temperature due to the emissions produced.
By identifying data, based on literature studies on the phenomena that occur in urban canyons, wind simulations are used to prove the factors that play a role in the urban canyon in dispersing pollutants inside which can affect the existing temperature. Computational simulation analyzed to determine how far the geometry of urban canyon impacts to the inside of urban canyon temperatures itself.
At this writing, the case study used is the context of Urban Canyon Margonda. At this writing also, shows that there is a need for further study of the phenomena that occur in urban canyons in Indonesia which are rarely noticed both on a macro and micro scale.
