High Performance Building Façade

This course explores ways to enhance the performance of tall building façades in regulating energy by utilizing simulation and optimization tools. The objectives include understanding the role of facades in buildings while focusing on aspects such as thermal energy, moisture control, airtightness, and light management. Additional topics discuss facade design and materials, technological advancements in facade detailing, and the concept of green facades.

Recent projects of this course focus on optimizing facades in well-known tall buildings that previously encountered specific issues regarding facade performance, including concerns related to visual comfort, daylighting, and solar radiation.
